The Cupcake Tower Blog

12Mar 2013

Recently, Joy co-hosted our friend’s baby shower with another friend.  Needless to say, there was no shortage of inspiration to be found on (none other than) Pinterest.  Honestly, what did we even DO before Pinterest?  Who has time to come up with their own ideas anymore?? 😉

First their was the caprese kabobs – I am not ashamed to admit that I quite possibly ate half the bowl.  Yum. And you can’t go wrong with some colorful veggies and dip.  Let’s all pretend we’re healthy before we get to the good stuff:

She used two small cupcake towers, one for apple bites drizzled in caramel and whipped cream filled strawberries and one of course for cupcakes.

Oh yeah, she’s having a girl 🙂

As if that weren’t enough, she cranked it up a notch with this adorable baby carriage fruit display.  Go ahead, Pin away, you know you want to!

Love.

For the creme dela creme, she created this gorgeous pink taffy bouquet.

Eye candy, literally.

This past weekend we celebrated my little guy’s 1st birthday and my little beauty’s 5th birthday!  We did one big celebration so I needed to choose a theme that was somewhat gender neutral.

Grace asked for hearts so in order to combat the ‘girlie-ness’ I decided on ‘Hearts and Stripes’.

I used the streamers in the background for ‘stripes’ and chose a couple bold, dark colors.  Notice how I used (2) 10″ circles for my cakes and a two-tiered tower starting with the 14″ plate for the cupcakes.  The possibilities with The Cupcake Tower are endless!

For Grace’s cake I made these super fun ombre sugar hearts

I posted the instructions on how to make these here over on my personal blog.

The cupcakes were so awesomely provided by Bliss Cupcakes and they were to die for.

For Luke’s ‘smash cake’ I decided to leave it ‘plain’ knowing that it would soon be all over his hands and face (and ears and nose and hair…) So instead I crafted a quick “1” topper for him.

We had a blast and of course as always – cupcakes were a hit!  For more details of the party visit my blog

These displays could go two ways – Halloween or Pirate Party.  Either way – they are both awesome.

Elizabeth Walker of Cake Pops by Liz sent in this photo:

Notice the bones laying around?  Creepy!  Her Facebook page is definitely worth checking out (link above).  She has some great photos of more Halloween cake pops.

My Cake Fairy actually posted this pic on our Facebook page last year but it is definitely worthy of showing off again.  I love the flowers in the eyes and teeth.

I would love to see more…keep sending in Halloween Cupcake Tower photos!

How much do you love Halloween?  I admit that I’ve always been somewhat lukewarm to the holiday. But with a bunch of little goblins running around my house now I’m kinda warming up to it…

Plus, there’s just so much Halloween cuteness out there.

Remember this from last year?  Parenting.com used our Cupcake Tower to display this ‘all white’ Halloween set up.  I love the twist – who thinks to decorate with white for such a ‘dark’ dominated holiday?

We took their idea one step further at the All Things Baking Conference that we attended last October and added cupcakes (and some color!)

I  lost my mind decided to be bold and joined The Nester and blog for 31 Days in October (on my personal blog) so just recently I posted these Oreo Mummy Pops set up on the Cake Pop Tower.  These guys were almost too cute to eat!  Almost

What are your plans for Halloween treats?  Do you have any great photos of your Tower in action from last year?  Send them over (jennifer@thecupcaketower.com)!  I’d love to brag about you.

Did you happen to hear how much I love The Cupcake Tower stacked with ‘minis’?  Probably.  No, definitely

But it’s worth reiterating!  Here’s two more reasons why.

There isn’t a photo of Michelle’s from Oven Couture~Smallish Confection Perfection that I don’t love.  Each and every Tower that she has designed is, well, perfection.  I love these mini cupcakes on this darling Tower for a special little girl’s 1st birthday.

Customer Kim Rogers shared this photo:

The Cake Balls and gorgeous cutting cake were made by LaLee Pops.  This turned out to be an absolutely stunning display.

With minis you can really see the detail of the scroll supports.  You all never cease to amaze me.  Keep posting photos on our Facebook page or e-mail them to me at jennifer@thecupcaketower.com.  We LOVE our customers.
