For my son’s 3rd birthday, we had a few visitors from the famous trilogy.  First, the little green men in the form of cupcakes! Inspiration found here.

The rest of the cupcakes were topped with Army men (dollar store find!)

We wrangled up some dishes that Woody and gang would be proud of

First their was the caprese kabobs – I am not ashamed to admit that I quite possibly ate half the bowl.  Yum. And you can’t go wrong with some colorful veggies and dip.  Let’s all pretend we’re healthy before we get to the good stuff:

She used two small cupcake towers, one for apple bites drizzled in caramel and whipped cream filled strawberries and one of course for cupcakes.

As if that weren’t enough, she cranked it up a notch with this adorable baby carriage fruit display.  Go ahead, Pin away, you know you want to!

For the creme dela creme, she created this gorgeous pink taffy bouquet.

Grace asked for hearts so in order to combat the ‘girlie-ness’ I decided on ‘Hearts and Stripes’.

I used the streamers in the background for ‘stripes’ and chose a couple bold, dark colors.  Notice how I used (2) 10″ circles for my cakes and a two-tiered tower starting with the 14″ plate for the cupcakes.  The possibilities with The Cupcake Tower are endless!

For Grace’s cake I made these super fun ombre sugar hearts

The cupcakes were so awesomely provided by Bliss Cupcakes and they were to die for.  

For Luke’s ‘smash cake’ I decided to leave it ‘plain’ knowing that it would soon be all over his hands and face (and ears and nose and hair…) So instead I crafted a quick “1″ topper for him.

My Cake Fairy actually posted this pic on our Facebook page last year but it is definitely worthy of showing off again.  I love the flowers in the eyes and teeth.
